You know how it goes
girl meets boy
boy games
girl obsesses
boy reschedules but calls everyday
girl decides to let it go but is mindful
girl is reunited with another guy who’s in Afghanistan
girl contemplates sexy texts
girl has no idea what text sex is
boy who games asks girl out on another date
girl says sure
girl says let’s get something healthy
girl suggests Jason’s Deli
boy says that was what he was thinking
girl privately admits Jason’s Deli isn’t that romantic
girl receives flirty text from Afghanistan man
girl forgets about Jason’s and the original boy momentarily
girl and boy and boy carry on until all ends in either tears or apathy

Don’t write the ending yet, M’Lady. I know you’ve always had a habit of looking ahead and reading the last pages first.

Memories…like the corner of my mind…misty water colour memories…of the way I was…we were…I was…we were…and so on and so on. Those wrinkles around my mouth are getting deeper and I blame you because you keep making me smile and many times laugh out loud. You capture the absurdity of relationships like no one I’ve read in a long time.

I agree with poeticgrin. Don’t write the ending yet. Make it a to be continued…. and see where the story leads.

Ah, sexting. I haven’t read a poem that showcases it like this. 🙂
Take a lesson from Bunny-love, hopeful is best, but consider your own happiness first, above everyone else’s. And remember this. There’s a reason Fatalistic is so close to the word Fatal.

Love Story 2, the same except it ends in love and joy and happiness and respect and holding hands at eighty and falling asleep together every night.

Bryan and Jade: you know how much I love endings. Beginnings and middles, not so much.
Val: I’ve missed you. Sorry about those laugh lines…well, I would be sorry if they weren’t happy lines anyway. If I made you cry, I’d feel bad.
Utopian: thanks!
Bunny-Love: Fatal/Fatalistic, love it. Why do I get the feelilng you could be the Mr. Miagi of sexting??
Paul: Love stories are not about happiness, silly.

Jason’s Deli could be romantic in a salad bar sort of way 🙂

Jessie, haha. That made me LOL, for realz.
If I were to extend this ditty, it would go something like this:
girl goes to Jason’s Deli with boy
girl gets the salad bar
boy gets the Chicago club
girl goes and makes her salad
boy is finished with almost all of his plate by the time girl sits down to start eating
girl eats while be watched closely
girl hurries her ass up
girl gets ice cream on the way out but is basically okay with the meal on the fly
