since I saw him last

by coincidence only
he emailed me
wondered if we were on speaking terms

I would have forgotten it was our anniversary
if he hadn’t contacted me
it was a year ago
I cannot bring myself to believe
he’s been counting, too

Nice poem lady, now let me say a few words of my own.
It has been 4 years since we last saw each other. I am talking about “the” person, the important thing. It has been 4 years that it has been dating the girl who it cheated me with.
