He sounds like either a normal person trying to offer support and encouragement (a word I like to use in it’s old-fashioned sense, en-courage, rather than it’s horrible rah rah sense) or a real fancy dancer just trying to get something from you. I’ld recommend caution. Of course it’s always possible that you are very cool and a much much better writer than you think you are, that’s a possibility too.
