Never, ever
is a distortion
Always, forever
is a distortion
Magnifying
is a distortion
Minimizing
is a distortion
Hording hurts
is a distortion
Denying gifts or pleasure
is a distortion
Reasoning with my emotions
is a distortion
I want to die
is a distortion
I want to live
is a distortion
all of it
all the thoughts I have
the heart that beats in my chest
the mind that races constantly
without mercy
is a distortion

The repetition here, which, to me, is very drone-like, gives this piece an interesting, dead-inside tone. I want to die has the same tone as I want to live, for example. And it’s all a distortion, therefore, all equal in its falsehood. You’re damn good at psychological poetry!

This does sort of have that “all sins are equal” feel to it. All thoughts are equally distorted. Thank you for your comment.
