There’s nothing I fear more than a heartbeat. The negative space of it: its absence. Our hearts kill us more often than not. It’s statistically so. It’s figuratively so. And so I try to keep time with the tides that change but never stop.

isn’t it always the heart failing to pump that kills us?
the negative side of the heartbeat. i like it, it is interesting. i would say maybe it is a bit like the space between words no? but you have it in a nother way.
and these days i learn to diagnose according to the heartbeat which makes it all much more interesting idea..
