I was status quo
I was well & good
until a word
Came from his lips
Itsnotright
As a single word instead of the usual three
The doctors might as well confirm for clinical analysis what I’ve always known
I’ll be the death of me
I was status quo
I was well & good
until a word
Came from his lips
Itsnotright
As a single word instead of the usual three
The doctors might as well confirm for clinical analysis what I’ve always known
I’ll be the death of me
The ending of the poem has a real kick to it because of how you’ve turned the phrase around from its usual manner.
Hello. I am back … My falsely cheerful world has been lonely without you. Hope your world is better than your recent poems indicate… Bear with my out of date comments to come as i catch up.
@slpmartin–I recently got word that I have a tiny defect in my immune system that causes it to attack my thyroid (Hashimoto’s). What occurred to me is that all these years, my mind has been attacking me. Hashimoto’s isn’t serious at all but just the thought that there is actual physical evidence of self-destruction is a disturbing and comforting thought at the same time.
If that makes any sense at all…
@Patrice–time stands still, friend. It’s always like we begin just where we left off the last time we talked. ๐
My words are always dark, it seems. It feels as though I’m entering a new phase of writing but I’m not sure how it’s going to take shape. It might not be even a noticeable difference from my previous stuff. I’m in a weird place right now. Join the club, right?
